Our analyser is unique as the cell incorporates a constant, direct-drive electrode cleaning system, to help eliminate signal drift, by removing hydrogen build-up on the negative cell and cleaning off contaminates.
Along with a patented constant head device with a built in venturi system, this combination keeps a constant flow of sample to the cell and at an increase of the sample to the constant head, produces a vacuum that draws the remaining contaminants from the cell and associated pipework and is discharged to drain. This device helps to keep the analyser system cleaner and greatly reduces the day-to-day maintenance requirements. Sample temperature variations are compensated within the measuring cell and controller, thereby providing consistent residual values.
In addition to the design above, CSB exclusively uses a self-cleaning filter for PAA measurement in wastewater. The sample passes through the filter and is connected directly to the constant head device, helping to further alleviate the blocking of the cell. The filter uses the sample water to pulsate the filter membrane at a frequency of around 2 to 5 pulses per second, by passing the sample through a rotating arm assembly in the filter head.
The filtered sample then passes to the analyser cell via a manifold which has a valve fitted - either automatic (for use with a timer) or without, for manual operation of the venturi system. The introduction of a verification system makes the CSB analyser the perfect solution for monitoring and control of PAA.
